Sarah lives in the moment and, though she loves using her mutation for more practical (though illegal) things, she also loves using them for pranks: causing multiple cellphones to start ringing in movie theaters, making peoples' cars sputter and die, leading people to believe that their electronics are 'possessed' by making them act seemingly as though they have a life of their own. She's strong-willed and relentless once she gets an idea in her head, often acts before thinking things through, and doesn't like being told not to use her mutation.

Oh, she also has a twin sister, Jessica, who's the biggest drama queen in the Universe.

likes: computers, video games, graphic design, hacking, the internet, anything mechanical, stealing, rock music.

dislikes: getting caught hacking, pop, adults, other cyberpaths.

phobias/fears: being locked away; sarah's had multiple run-ins with law enforcement due to her inclination to hack into secure networks and the idea of being permanently locked in a cell without an outlet for her mutation scares the hell out of her.

hobbies: hacking, mostly. creating new programs. messing around with other peoples' electronics to freak them out.

goals: sarah is a sort of 'live-in-the-moment' girl. She doesn't have any long-term goals, which is probably why she keeps on getting in trouble for her hacking activities. In the short term, her goals revolve around whatever she's in the process of completing at the moment.

strengths: When Sarah takes on anything, she's fearless and relentless about it. She's a good ally to have because she'll do absolutely anything to achieve the bottom line. She's smart, a quick learner, and fairly agile and fast, even though her mutation doesn't affect her physical body.

weaknesses/flaws: Sarah's strengths can also be considered her weaknesses. She doesn't take no for an answer, though this is true only as long as she's convinced that she's right about something. And her fierce drive means that she'll take risks that might more likely than not get her into trouble.

history »

Sarah Vale was born an identical twin. Her twin, Jessica, is also a mutant, though the girls' powers differ vastly. While Sarah is a cyberpath, Jessica has the ability to see a short distance into the future. Before their mutations manifested, the girls were extremely close but, at the age of fourteen, when they began to show their first signs of their x-genes, the twins became rivals more than friends. Jessica considered her sister to have the more 'useful' power (something Sarah secretly agreed with, since Jessica's precognition was so limited) and Jessica's jealousy pushed Sarah to show off more and more.

Sarah's showing off led to her using her powers to steal and hacking into secure networks and, eventually, she got caught breaking into a department store late one night (after disabling the security cameras and alarms --- unfortunately, her powers didn't affect the nightguard). Her parents freaked out, her sister got uppity about Sarah being the problem child, and Sarah's relationship with her family increasingly spiraled downward as Sarah continued to use her powers more and more with an apparent disregard for getting caught.

She eventually picked up and left when she was sixteen, hitchhiking from her home in Portland, Maine and, eventually, ending up in New York City.

powers & skills »

A true technopath/cyberpath, Network is able to mentally communicate with and control machinery and other electronics, letting her access computer files and manipulate programming to suit her needs. She's capable of doing such basic things, such as flipping through television channels with her mind, and more complex things, such as hacking into a high security computer mainframe without lifting a finger and using only her mental powers.

Sarah can literally communicate and use a computer without ever touching it. She can look up data, send IMs and Emails, and surf the Web.

Like with computers, Sarah can mentally manipulate all sorts of electronics and machines, such as televisions, telephones, cell phones, various appliances, etc.
